08-Adjustment – Upright Thoth Deck

Your Chosen Card – Adjustment Upright Thoth Deck

When upright, the Adjustment card suggests that your current situation hinges on matters of equilibrium, balance, fair treatment, and justice. If you are involved in a legal matter, it will be judged impartially and is likely to be decided in your favor (but only if you are in the right). If you are in the wrong, the same impartiality applies and you will be held accountable. In any decision you take now, it is essential to be honest and judicious in weighing the pros and cons. In the words of the Bible: ‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap’ (Galatians 6:7, KJV).

Keywords Upright: Adjustment, equality, human rights, law and order, fairness, truth, lawfulness, just behavior, balance, impartiality, tolerance, reasonable decisions, courts, legal matters, accepting responsibility, correcting imbalances, respect for the law, morality, ethics, karma, actions and consequences, the right way, just deserts of one’s actions.

Key XI: Adjustment. This card is numbered VIII in the traditional Marseille deck.
Myths/Archetypes: The Scales of Adjustment. Karma. The Egyptian goddess Ma’at who weighed souls against a feature to determine if they were worthy of paradise. Knight Solomon. The Code of Hammurabi. Moses receiving the Ten Commandments.
Dates of Libra: 23 September–22 October (tropical); 17 October–15 November (sidereal)
Astrology: Libra, the Scales (ruled by the planet Venus)
Numerology: 2 (High Priestess) = 1 + 1 (Adjustment or Strength) = 2 + 0 (Judgment)

Hebrew letter: Teth or Theth (a clay or wicker basket; a Hebrew word meaning to surround, contain, store, catch, intertwine, coil, knot together, interweave; also mud or clay, and a snake or serpent). The coiling serpent is suggestive of the intertwining of bodies in sexual intercourse. The Hebrew letter Teth (basket) and this card’s association with human lust bring to mind the nursery rhyme, ‘A-tisket a-tasket, a green and yellow basket, I wrote a letter to my love and on the way I dropped it … a little boy he picked it up and put it in his pocket.’

When Adjustment is upright you can pretty much take it that life is going well but that’s when life takes us by surprise.  If Adjustment is unclear it may help to choose a card from the Major Arcana to provide more insight into what it is Adjustment is trying to tell you.  If you had a particular issue in  mind, or want to seek clarification on something else, you can also choose again to get more guidance.

Angel Insights
Book Details
Angel Insights : You also have an elaborate soul contract with Spirit itself. This details things you agreed to experience, teach, and learn here on earth during your lifetime. Are these contracts negotiable? I believe so, to a degree. It’s hard to negotiate things you aren’t aware of, and I feel that many items in these contracts are not known to our conscious minds. But I do believe some things can be negotiated, and that’s a great time to get your guardian angels involved. You can tell them: ‘Hey, I don’t know if I signed up for what I’m experiencing right now, but I really want to see if there is a way to change or modify our agreement on this one.’ Maybe you have one child, but later in life decide you’d like a second. You try to conceive but can’t. You look into adoption but it’s more than you can afford. Ask your angels to help. You can write a journal entry to your angels, asking them to explain to everyone in heaven that you really feel a second child is right for your family, and you want some guidance and help to achieve this. Then watch for messages from your angels in the form of thoughts and feelings and even people and opportunities regarding this issue of a second child. There is an interesting movie that deals with this exact question of whether we can negotiate aspects of our fate with Spirit called The Adjustment Bureau. I was fascinated when I saw the film, and then later I heard Robert Ohotto mention the movie on his radio show and I knew I was on to something!

Tarot Books

World of Psychics: If you are buying a deck, though, be guided by your intuition. The cards work through images, and images are the language of your intuition and psychic mind. It’s through the plethora of symbols, and in the case of the Thoth deck astrological references as well, that you will discover more about your own path and how to access the ancient wisdom the Tarot contains. The 78 cards can make you smile as time and time again the same things are suggested to you, as I have found out!

Complete Book of Tarot: Given that the tarot can be used as a form of divination, let’s plunge right in and ask the tarot a question. A logical place to start is to inquire of our tarot deck what it can do for us, but first let me mention some customary terminology. In tarot literature, we call the person who consults (queries) the cards the querent (client, seeker) and the person who interprets the cards the reader. If you interpret your own cards, you are acting as both the querent who queries and the reader who deciphers the message in the cards.

Complete Book of Tarot: Fact 8: Hollywood movies suggest that the Death card almost inevitably foreshadows some character’s imminent demise. In real life, however, the Death card indicates an important transition, the closing of one chapter and the opening of another. Only rarely does it indicate a physical death. For example, a friend once asked me to read his cards, and the central card of his layout was Death. It made sense because he was in the midst of deciding whether to retire from his job and begin a new phase of his life as a retired person. Now, many years later, he is still alive and enjoying his retirement.
