In numerology, this karmic debt number is linked to freedom and temptation, which is interesting considering the placement of this card between Death and the Devil. Death itself is freedom, and the Devil knows all about temptation. Yet Temperance sits between them. She mixes her one and four and produces a five, the number of change. Change is in many ways an opportunity for deep healing work, so it is little wonder that Temperance is often seen as a healing card. Karmic debt numbers are also an opportunity for healing. Traction will be harder to find, and the allure of Death and the Devil may be more tempting than normal. Regardless of its orientation, though, Temperance offers you the chance to walk the middle path, the road between the temptations. Just keep your eyes open and you too will find it even while standing on your head.
