65-Two of Patens – Reversed Salem Deck

Your Chosen Card – Two of Patens Reversed Salem Deck

When reversed, the Two of Pentacles implies that you are being pulled in many directions by various commitments and having a hard time adapting and establishing balance in your life. You may feel as if you will either sink or swim. Perhaps you have taken on more than you can handle or others are placing an overwhelming number of demands on your time and energy. Unexpected obstacles and erratic conditions are creating a sense of turbulence. To decrease your anxiety and sense of agitation, you need to focus and bring more balance into your life, even if it means getting outside help or removing some irons from the fire.

Book Details
Angel Encyclopedia: The idea of judgment after death may have originated with the Egyptians. In order to reach paradise, or Sekhet Hetepet, the body and soul travel by the boat of Ra, the sun, along the river of the Milky Way, much like later Greek souls navigated the river Styx. Upon disembarking, the dead must pass through seven gates, each with a gatekeeper, watcher, and herald, then enter the Hall of Justice. Thoth, god of wisdom, prosecutes the case of the soul before Osiris the Judge, and the soul may defend itself. Eventually Anubis places the petitioner’s heart on the scales of justice, and if the heart sinks lower than a feather from the headdress of Maat, goddess of truth, the soul is eaten by the horrid monster Ammit. Christian parallels are St. Peter as gatekeeper of heaven, and the archangel Michael as psychopomp and weigher of souls. (See

World of Psychics: Both the positive and the negative sides of the cards are given here, but even the negative is a good thing, as it can show what needs to go. Just remember these keywords are not the only ones. As always, get to know your own cards. Let them talk to you. If you disagree with any of the words or meanings listed here, go with what you get, but be consistent. For example, the Two of Disks traditionally means change, but for me when it comes up in a reading it raises concerns over the health of someone older. I know I’m probably beginning to sound like a parrot with the trust and intuition thing, but if that’s what it takes, cover me in feathers and call me Polly!

Tarot for Beginners: Reversed, the Hanged Man may indicate that it is you who is causing the immobility. You may be avoiding making a life-changing decision for fear of the initial discomfort it will cause. Fear of change is very powerful, even when we know the change will ultimately lead to better circumstances. Beware of betraying yourself in the effort to stay in your comfort zone.

Reversed Cards: The sevens are a very interesting group of cards. In numerology, seven is often referred to as the master/student number as well as the rest and retreat number. A lot of people don’t think of seven as much of an action number, but the truth is the seven is all about the process of movement. It teaches us when to move, when to be still, when to retreat, and when to inspire action via leadership. As we saw in the chariot, for a so-called passive number the seven sure has a lot to teach us about action, momentum, direction, and distraction. Sevens are naturally quieter than other numbers, but don’t let that fool you. Quiet consistency is what moves mountains. A seven may not need to be flashy to get a result, but that doesn’t mean the results aren’t fabulous. The biggest challenge for the seven is lacking intellectual stimulation. Being a very cerebral number by nature, a seven can get bored easily, which means it gets distracted easily and often. When a seven wanders into your life, you will need to be mindful of staying on task and all the little things that can pull you off course.
