37-Two of Cups – Reversed Golden Deck

Your Chosen Card – Two of Cups Reversed Golden Deck

When reversed, the Two of Cups implies that you might be having difficulty with a friendship or romantic interest. It may be that the close bond you thought existed was really a false friendship or that the other person does not truly have your best interests at heart. There appears to be some sort of lack of commitment to the relationship. If you are unable to resolve the disharmony, it could result in estrangement or the dissolution of a relationship. In terms of romance, it may be that sexual attraction between the partners is simply lacking. There is no point continuing to pursue someone if the only response you get is disinterest or unrequited love. A relationship based on sex without love and mutual respect is doomed to failure.

Keywords Reversed: Disaffection, false friendship, disharmony, unrequited love, lack of commitment, the inability to reconcile differences, lack of sexual attraction.

Book Details
Complete Book of Tarot: … the meaning of divination cards changes over time, shaped by each era’s culture and the needs of individual users. This is partly why these decks can be so puzzling to outsiders, as most of them reference allegories or events familiar to people many centuries ago. Caitlín Matthews, who teaches courses on cartomancy, or divination with cards, says that before the eighteenth century, the imagery on these cards was accessible to a much broader population. But in contrast to these historic decks, Matthews finds most modern decks harder to engage with.’ 10

Complete Book of Tarot: The silk cloth myth: always wrap your cards in silk cloth and store them in an oak box with crystals like quartz or amethyst.

Complete Book of Tarot: Tarot, on the other hand, has evolved to become a tool to tap into one’s intuition, understand one’s motivations, gain insight, and brainstorm. The modern focus on the use of the tarot has changed from fortune-telling to gaining perspective, clarifying issues, and taking responsibility for one’s life. The older fortune-telling aspects of tarot do not fit well with the current approach of empowering clients to make informed decisions. In fact, the majority of modern tarot readers prefer not to be viewed as fortune tellers.

Tarot Triumphs: In most Tarot layouts there is a significator, a card selected to stand on its own, which indicates the querent at the present time, or the topic of the question asked. Although the three-card reading I’m about to explain does not include a significator, we will come to it directly afterward with a four-card layout. It’s also worth mentioning now because it is relevant to the issue of whether the diviner is told the question or not; if there is a significator in the layout, even if the querent doesn’t voice the question aloud, the significator will usually give you a handle on the situation. So, for most Tarot readings, the significator is a signpost that you can use to point the way to the nature of the situation.
