Well-Being, Physical Health Or Mental Health:

Even when Adjustment is drawn in reversal, in the context of health, we are reminded that it is important to ‘stay in the moment’ and to pay attention to how we are endeavoring to keep a sense of balance in our lives. Moderation is not just for monks, it’s an important part of living a sensible and healthy life. This is a good and an important time to seek advice from more experienced people and different healers if you are having health difficulties.

Adjustment deals with the idea of karma and the law of cause and effect, stating that all events, and all people, are connected. It’s important to remember that not everything you are dealing with, however, is a direct result of your own actions or karma. Sometimes you will be called upon to deal with the results of the actions of someone you care about, and this can sometimes be as difficult and demanding as it is when you’re up against something that is completely of your own making. Don’t blame yourself unnecessarily.

Book Details
Elements of the Psychic World: Rosicrucians place an emphasis on reincarnation but they have most often been associated with alchemy. Members stress healthy living and abstain from meat, alcohol and tobacco. All Rosicrucian organizations employ the symbol of the rose – to represent love and secrecy – and the cross – to represent death, suffering and resurrection

Tarot Triumphs: This moment of adjustment, of resolution, is well placed right at the end of the session, because the seeking quality that infuses the main part of the reading is needed to tease out the questions and the truth of the situation. The matter is not yet laid to rest. At the end, the missing pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are offered, but only after any difficulties or dilemmas have been considered. The main part of the reading will hopefully sharpen the querent’s resolve to make decisions and to face up to the prevailing circumstances. Then this last piece of understanding can bring a sense of completion and confidence in one’s worth.

Tarot Triumphs: The Fool’s Mirror was the last legacy that I received from Glyn, and it is an image I use now to draw together the strands of my Tarot practice of many years, and the name given to what I now present as the Fool’s Mirror School of Tarot. This is the perspective that has shaped this book, and these are the threads of my own experience and understanding. Later, in chapters five through eight, we’ll look further into the outlook and ethos involved.

Reversed Cards: Tonglen is a Buddhist practice taught to students to help them overcome fear and anxiety. It is a meditation practice based on transformation, transmutation, and, in many respects, alchemy. When I think about the Tonglen process, I always think about the Temperance card. In Tonglen the student is taught to breathe in suffering to bring it right into the heart, turn it into love, and then breathe it back out again. Inhale pain and suffering and exhale love and compassion. It truly is a beautiful practice and one I personally do as often as possible. But here in the shadow aspect of Temperance, you have forgotten the love and compassion part of the alchemy process. Instead, you are taking in and taking on the pain and suffering of not only yourself but all of those around you. Now, you might think this is just who you are, that this is what you do when you work with healing energy, but the truth is that this is purely ego-based thinking. It is not your place to be a martyr, nor is anyone else’s burden yours to claim as your own. Everything is not about you. Instead, it is about the ability you have to rid your personal world of suffering and fill it with genuine love and compassion. Remove yourself from the binds of the shadow aspect and lay down your load. Open your heart and let Temperance do what she does best—heal with the power of transformation.
