46-Page of Cups – Reversed Rider Waite Deck

Your Chosen Card – Page of Cups Reversed Rider Waite Deck

When reversed, the Page of Cups tends to spend his time in unproductive fantasy, as if living in a dream. Squandering his talents, he may come across as immature, lazy, or idle. He tends to be overly dependent on others to take care of him, and he can’t be relied upon to honor his commitments. Sometimes this reversed Page highlights a fear of your own dependency needs and a reluctance to assume adult responsibilities involving care for others. Escapist tendencies, perhaps through drugs or alcohol, can become a problem. It’s easy, however, to be seduced by this Page’s charm.

Keywords Reversed: Unrealistic, immature, needy, childish, living in a fantasy world, spoiled, unhappy, lazy, idle, escapist, clingy, overly dependent, fearful of dependency, deceptive, seductive, tricky, cunning, avoidant of adult responsibilities, putting your own needs ahead of the needs of others.

Decans/Timing: Astrology associates the element Water with summertime.
Astrology: Earth of Water. The Pages (Princesses) have no zodiacal attribution but represent four types of elemental people.

Tarot Books

Creative Tarot: Becoming a tarot reader was never my plan. I was more than a little surprised at how quickly it took over my life. How fascinating I found the cards, and how eagerly I dug into their history, how I couldn’t get enough of reading about the Golden Dawn, psychology, and art and music. Or how much I enjoyed the conversations I had with my clients and how my sessions felt more like play than work.

Complete Book of Tarot: f you shuffle a deck to randomly mix the cards, some of them will appear upside down when you lay them out in a spread. Entire books have been written about how to interpret reversed or inverted cards. Mary K. Greer’s Complete Book of Tarot Reversals is an excellent resource. Some readers simply ignore card reversals and read all cards upright. Others find inverted cards to be indispensable. This chapter presents some viewpoints about card reversals, and you will need to experiment to decide whether or not you want to use them.

Tarot Triumphs: The scene is a marketplace in Northern Italy. It’s in a small seaside town and has just a few canopied stalls set out, serving locals and holidaymakers alike. The year is 1972. I scan the stalls, and my eye is caught by an old lady standing erect behind her table, her hands busy spreading out a pack of Tarot cards. I can see that they are a local type known as Tarocchi in these parts, brightly colored and a little smaller than the cards I am used to.
