The reversed Four tells you that you are breaking out of a rut and that’s a very good thing. Stay positive, explore new ways of learning about and caring for your spirit, pay attention to speakers and writers with a spiritual message, then see what it means to you personally. You don’t have to tend to your spiritual life like everyone else does.

The Four of Cups is a card about wishful thinking. It warns us to remember to pay attention to what ‘is’ now, and the many blessings we each currently experience, and not to worry too much about ‘what could be.’ It is all too easy to overlook what we already have in the pursuit of what we don’t have.

Elements of the Psychic World
Book Details
Elements of the Psychic World: At the ASPR, McDougall attempted to strengthen the society’s academic credentials by setting up an academic board of advisors, but this was an unpopular strategy with board members and in 1923 he was replaced as president by spiritualist Frederick Edwards. Shortly after McDougall became the first of several psychical researchers to investigate the Boston medium Mina Crandon. They witnessed a number of phenomena including the movement of objects, but when a piece of string was discovered that could have been used to move a stool the investigation stopped. McDougall tried, without success, to get Crandon, who had gained considerable support from the ASPR, to confess to fraud. Disillusioned with the ASPR’s reluctance to apply academic criteria to psychical research, he gave his support to a rival society that was setting itself up, the Boston Society for Psychical Research.

Angel Encyclopedia: Split from the Catholic Church that led to the establishment of Protestant denominations within Christianity. The Protestant revolt began in the 16th century with Martin Luther’s 95 Theses nailed on the door of Wittenberg Cathedral in 1517 and Henry VIII’s 1534 Act of Supremacy, in which he declared himself the head of the Church of England. The founders of the various lines of Protestantism—Anglican, Lutheran, Calvinist—discarded some church dogma and much ecclesiastical law, and they modified practice for both clergy and laity, yet retained a great deal of both dogma and practice. Protestantism kept church dogmas on angels relatively intact.

Reversed Cards: One of the biggest differences between the Justice card and many other versions of justice are the scales. In the tarot our scales are balanced. Here in the shadow aspect, you may be tempted to try and tilt those scales in your own favor. This indicates an ego desire to win over a higher spiritual lesson of balanced and fair outcomes for all involved. The eleven/two is already a karmic number, albeit a master lesson number, but it could easily turn into a karmic debt number if you try to manipulate or entice the scales to your will alone without considering the consequences to the other people involved. Revenge and retribution may seem good ideas right now, but you may live to regret letting the flames of the ego burn down the pillars of truth and balance on this issue.
