Book Details
Elements of the Psychic World: Tai Chi is believed to balance out energies in the body to ensure a smooth flow of chi. Studies have indicated that the regular practice of Tai Chi has a number of health benefits, including stress reduction, the lowering of blood pressure and an improved quality of health in people suffering with age-related ailments, such as arthritis.

Reversed Cards: The Ace of Cups corresponds to the three water signs, Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio. All three of these signs can be guilty of holding a grudge or not knowing when to let go of past wounds and hurts. This energy is very much present in the Ace of Cups in the shadow aspect. If you have turned your cup upside down, you have trapped your emotions. With nowhere to go, your emotional energy will continue to build its own little vortex right under your cup, pulling its power from the sandy earth and grounding all your pent-up emotions into one murky-looking puddle of water. So ask yourself, what benefit is flowing your way from you creating this storm in a teacup?

Tarot Triumphs: Bear in mind, though, that small details, such as the color of someone’s shoes or the number of lines used to depict the folds on a cloak, are unlikely to have an implicit significance and may change from pack to pack, as different makers introduce their own variations in style. I will give more pointers to the significant elements as we go along, especially in chapter five, but it’s stimulating and productive to get into the habit of questioning the cards straightaway. See what does not conform with your expectations, and speculate. Pick out any innate paradoxes, consider the cultural associations that may have influenced the image, and ask what those might signify. The Hanged Man, for instance, does not look miserable, dying, or dead in most packs. Why is that? Why is he upside-down, yet apparently happy? (You will find my suggested answer in chapter five.) Learning from other Tarot writers is useful, but learning how to ask the questions and search for answers is the real key that will allow your understanding of the cards to blossom.

Reversed Cards: When one looks at the Tower, it is hard to imagine that this card gets any better upside down than it does right-side up. I mean, an explosion is an explosion and there is no doubt about that. Regardless of how the Tower has shown up in your reading, it is going to rock your world. For me, the reversed aspect of the Tower could very well speak of an implosion as opposed to an all-out explosion. Ultimately, they do end with the same result but just take a slightly different approach getting there. The Tower card vibrates to the number seven, the number of lessons and movement. Even though you might not like to admit it, a full-out implosion will definitely teach you something. When the seven shows up, you can be assured that this lesson is karma related. This violent act of rocking you to your core only happened because you ignored the warning signs or just refused to do what needed to be done to avoid this level of destruction. So take notes now, because you can guarantee that the Tower will show up again if you don’t pay closer attention to the rubble currently surrounding you.
