Career, Work Or Retirement:

You’re about to fit things together in new or unusual ways. Work is about to get a lot smoother, and if you’re looking for employment, you are about to find the right fit. Don’t let anyone knock you off your stride. You’re more together and balanced than you might realize, work-wise.

These things will be very helpful to you during this time. The Two of Wands also often indicates a partnership with one other person. This can be business or personal, or both.

Development for Beginners: Alternatively, if you are working to heal another person, do the same thing, but instead of imaging that the energy ball is hovering near or inside of your own body, imagine that it’s doing one of those two things to the body of the person you are trying to heal.

Reversed Cards: The Two of Wands sees a young Mars showing off his talents, and just like a prideful adolescent, this card in the shadow aspect could indicate you are getting too big for your britches and no one wants to hear you yabber on about how great you are anymore. So you can set things on fire while standing on your head. Good for you. But without the support of others, all those wonderful plans of yours will go up in smoke. This card lets you know you have big ideas and a passion to match, but here’s the rub: you can’t pull it off on your own. If this card has shown up in your daily draw or reading, you may need to adjust your attitude and make sure you are not alienating those who can actually help you pull off your dreams, goals, and desires.

Portable Magic: It may seem strange that the magician enters one of the cards during rituals of Tarot magic. In the Western esoteric tradition, it is usual for the magician to remain within his or her own body during the greater part of ritual work. This is not equally so in the magic of the East. Tibetan magicians work with esoteric designs laid out upon the floor or the ground that express in symbolic form astral temples, astral landscapes, or entire planes of being without physical reality. They project themselves into these pictures by identifying themselves with a small token, which they place within the design, usually at its centre. As long as the token that embodies their identity remains within the design, they are present and self-aware in the astral reality that the design represents.

Portable Magic: ritual. The basic tools are the point, the ray, the circle, the triangle, and the cross. The accompanying schematic diagram shows the typical arrangement of these tools during rituals. In the following chapters we will examine each tool in detail, describing the cards used in its creation and how they are arranged, but here I wish to consider them symbolically, as shapes, in relation to one another.
