Faith, Spirituality Or Psychic Progression:

The Three of Dynamism again indicates that things may not be entirely clear to you in the spiritual realm. Be wary if you meet new people who claim to have ‘all the answers’ spiritually. Their answers may not be your answers. There’s no harm in exploring different spiritual understandings and traditions, however, this is probably not the time to commit to any of them.

Card Meanings: Overcoming Grief/ Sorrow/ Sadness, Repressing Emotions, Getting Over The Worst, Confusion, Reconciliation, Compromise, Suppressing Memories, Sorrow, Sharing Problems, Releasing Pain, Optimism, Overcoming Depression, Loss, Recovering From Heartbreak, Forgiveness, Inability To Let Go Of Pain

Regardless of the way that the Three of Dynamism card is depicted, know that it is not all bad. Although there is an element of sorrow that is undeniable when this card appears, what lies on the other side of this sorrow can be enhanced understanding and joy. Allow yourself to fully experience any sorrow or pain that comes up now, so that you can move beyond it.

Book Details
Elements of the Psychic World: Divination and healing are forms of channelling, as is possession, when an entity seizes control of an individual. In the Middle Ages possession was seen as demonic rather than divine. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, when spiritualism was at its height, channelling grew in popularity. The Fox sisters, three young women from New York, first brought public attention to channelling in 1848 when they announced the arrival of spirits in their séances.

Reversed Cards: Tonglen is a Buddhist practice taught to students to help them overcome fear and anxiety. It is a meditation practice based on transformation, transmutation, and, in many respects, alchemy. When I think about the Tonglen process, I always think about the Temperance card. In Tonglen the student is taught to breathe in suffering to bring it right into the heart, turn it into love, and then breathe it back out again. Inhale pain and suffering and exhale love and compassion. It truly is a beautiful practice and one I personally do as often as possible. But here in the shadow aspect of Temperance, you have forgotten the love and compassion part of the alchemy process. Instead, you are taking in and taking on the pain and suffering of not only yourself but all of those around you. Now, you might think this is just who you are, that this is what you do when you work with healing energy, but the truth is that this is purely ego-based thinking. It is not your place to be a martyr, nor is anyone else’s burden yours to claim as your own. Everything is not about you. Instead, it is about the ability you have to rid your personal world of suffering and fill it with genuine love and compassion. Remove yourself from the binds of the shadow aspect and lay down your load. Open your heart and let Temperance do what she does best—heal with the power of transformation.

Tarot Triumphs: During the evening, Glyn projected slides of each Tarot card onto a large screen. The experience was intense; each card had a powerful presence. At the start of the talk Glyn struck me as a strange man, someone who didn’t fit into any pigeonhole, but by the end I realized he was an extraordinary man. He showed us that night how the Tarot cards can accord with higher truths, as well as reflect the mundane features of daily life. They are, he implied, sacred glyphs. His words had great resonance for me. The effect was profound, and that night I dreamed vividly, encountering symbols of Tarot and alchemy that I scarcely knew in my waking life. The dream also had great urgency, as though a task awaited me. It showed me that it was time to leave pointless concerns behind and begin a frightening but essential journey toward what mattered, to reach the land that lay across the water, as it appeared in this dream.

Tarot Card Meanings: This ancient symbol has a wealth of associations but within the Tarot it is generally accepted to mean the hidden, esoteric and the wilder side of our natures.  The moon represents a journey of the mind, the imagination, which can both provide us with new insight or can hide our motives.  It is a card linked with both deep knowledge and also deception!  Contradictory meanings can often be found for this card but it generally relates to all things of the mind, both good and bad.  The card is also linked to the wilder side of humanity, to ancient instincts and motivations.  This is not the card of the civilized world but calls to our most basic desires and instincts.
