Reversed Cards: The Hermit knows better than anyone how locking others out on purpose can be harmful. It is harmful to you, and it is harmful to those you suddenly block from your life for no real reason. Not that there arent times when you should leave people behind, but here in the shadow aspect, that is not the case. Here you are doing it on purpose as a form of punishment. You have withdrawn your love, your loyalty, and your support. You have rescinded the energy your relationships need to sustain themselves, so dont be surprised if this all backfires, as you have no control how the other person or people will react to this shutdown of yours. So before you dig in and make the shadow aspect of the Hermit your permanent home, consider the real consequences of your actions. Are you really sure you are ready to be alone? Are you certain that you can continue on without the love and support of the person or people you have turned your back on? And if so, how do you believe this will nourish and support you moving forward? The Hermit in the shadow aspect can be very destructive.
