Finance, Money Matters Or Debt:

When the Nine of Pentacles reversed shows in a reading related to finances, you may be expecting rewards without doing ‘your part.’ Take the time and effort to understand exactly where you are financially, and take the steps to make plans and goals for where you want to be financially–and how you are going to get there. It won’t just fall into your lap.

That phrase ‘what goes around comes around’ is very relevant to this card. The Lord of Gain is a card that indicates that we have set in motion some plan or project, and we are now reaching a point of completion with it. So on the day ruled by the 9 of Pentacles, we need to be open to opportunities which allow us to conclude work that has been outstanding; remain alert to new chances opening up before us; and ready to seize the moment when it appears. This card accords with the ancient wisdom that we give what we get in life – so this is also a day to look for opportunities to offer our help and resources with no immediate expectation of return.

Take up chances to serve – whether in a mundane fashion, or to a higher source, in the sure knowledge that the things you give with love are the ones which build a bright new world. It is the help we give to others with a happy heart, the sympathy we offer without judgement, the gentleness with which we treat ourselves and others that will change things. When we do this, we set in motion a stream of positive, caring energy, which will travel around the world and return to us – vastly changed, and yet almost the same. What we gave to somebody else with no thought of reward or gain, is what we truly gain when it comes our way again. On one hand, the Nine of Pentacles represents all that is most gracious, high-minded and civilized. Art, music and other forms of beauty are very much part of our physical world. The business of life is important, but we don’t have to focus on practical matters all the time. We can also enjoy the finer things of life. In readings, the Nine of Pentacles can imply an interest in these areas. It is also a sign that you may need to reject the coarse or offensive and seek the highest.

The Truth of All That Is
Book Details
The Truth of All That Is : Whatever you need to bring you joy is important to us, and to others. Remember, the universe has plenty, and resources are infinite. You truly can have all you desire. Wanting more is not greedy, if you share, and give others that of which you have. You may want a lot of money, rather than just enough, and that is okay. We do not judge, and you can have as many wishes as you want, to keep you satisfied; but, when they arrive, remember to be thankful and share joy to those around, as well.

Reversed Cards: Sometimes all that glitters is not gold. If we look more closely at the Nine of Pentacles through the lens of the mirror, can you see where the glamour ends and where the real picture begins? There is a part of this card that does make you wonder if it’s all for show. Is this lovely scene of safety and security nothing more than an image for the outside world to see? It is easy to judge a scene like this one and claim that the woman obviously has it all, yet being too quick to judge this snapshot in time may very well be the lesson you need to learn.

Tarot Triumphs: The range of divination practices seems to be almost endless, but in fact there are patterns: the spectrum can be studied, and various common elements discerned, as I have written about in my book Divination: The Search for Meaning, as well as here in Tarot Triumphs. This is something that I ponder over, develop, and refine as I go along. In some views, divination is a thing apart, something to be feared or revered but not studied as a part of human knowledge and experience. My view, tempered by years of my practice of meditation and Tree of Life Kabbalah, is that we can endeavor to understand divination through exploring our own consciousness and that of the greater sphere of life. Philosophy, new science, and religious teachings all have ways of describing this and helping us to understand, but it’s work that is never finished; as part of human evolution, we need to make continual efforts to reformulate what is already known, and to communicate our discoveries to others.

Reversed Cards: The three is a number of extremes, and nowhere is that more evident than here in the shadow aspect of the Empress card. The Empress can be just as selfish and paranoid as she can be loving and embracing. When the disempowered side of the Empress is at the forefront, you can rest assured kindness will be in short supply. Instead, you can expect hostility, jealousy, and competitiveness. Number threes can be very competitive, and they hate losing. If you have drawn the Empress in the shadow aspect, you may be feeling like you are under threat, that someone or something is trying to take from you something you are not willing to give up or let go of. You may very well have a case of the green-eyed monster or be on the receiving end of it. I suggest you proceed with caution.
