Family, Friends & Relationships:

In general, The King of Dynamism reversed points to very forceful energy, whether or not he represents a literal man in your life. You will need to accept that you can’t always change anyone’s mind; sometimes the best you can hope for is compromise. And being forceful or like a bully yourself is not going to change anything; in fact it is likely to have the opposite effect.

Card Meanings: Lack Of Integrity/Morals/Discipline, Brutal, Intelligence Used In A Bad Way, Weak, Cynical, Dishonest, Inhumane, Irrational, Judgmental, Lack Of Structure/Routine, Losing Your Head, Controlling, Cold, Dictator, Evil Intentions, Obstinate, Oppressive, Rude, Powerless, Illogical, Violent, Intimidation, Power-Crazed, Judgments, Aggressive, Ruthless

The King of Dynamism often stands in for a powerful, opinionated, forceful man in the querent’s life. He will often, but not always, have hair on the darker end of the spectrum. You may be tempted to think only about how things affect you personally, particularly when this card does not represent a man in your life. Consider the feelings of others before you act.

Elements of the Psychic World
Book Details
Elements of the Psychic World: The disturbances, which began without warning and ceased equally abruptly five weeks later, affected Mr and Mrs Hermann, their 13-year-old daughter, Lucille and their 12-year-old son, Jimmy. The disturbances began on 6 February, with the inexplicable opening and spilling of bottles in the house when the children were present. On 9 February at 10.15 am, when the entire family was in the dining room, bottles could be heard popping and spilling in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The Hermanns called the police and when an officer arrived to investigate he also heard the sound of popping. A shampoo bottle that had been recapped had supposedly popped open again.

Reversed Cards: This card is deeply connected to the heart center. It is, in essence, a heart chakra card, so think about how important it is when this card shows up in the protection position. It means you are protecting your heart. This is not the same as blocking it. It just means that right now your heart is in pain. It needs time to heal and for you to understand just how vulnerable you are. Because this card is a two, though, you won’t be able to do this healing on your own. It would be best to seek out someone who can assist you with this heart-healing journey. This may be an energy worker, coach, therapist, pastor, or guru. Who you pick is part of the healing process. Trust your heart; it knows who and what it needs to heal.

Tarot Triumphs: These Triumphs on parade showed worldly, moral, and religious emblems, which drew on allegory, history, and Christian teachings for their values. A Triumph procession is described in Petrarch’s work I Trionfi, dating from the late fourteenth century, which alludes to vices and virtues and draws from popular symbolism in representing the characters taking part in the procession.11 As we saw in chapter one, the idea of the Tarot Trumps emerging one by one along the city street as a spectacle is a colorful and powerful one, and it does resonate with the kind of images that Tarot embodies. But which came first, and whether the Tarot corresponds exactly to a painted form of the spectacle, is a moot point. We should certainly consider the influence of this kind of pageant, and the motifs it included, but in my view this is likely to have been just one strand of Tarot history.

Creative Tarot: Whichever deck is most comfortable for you is the right tarot deck. There are a lot of options out there. I have several different decks—including the Spolia deck I made with the artist Jen May—and I switch them out, depending on mood. Tarot decks can get a little addictive; the art is so beautiful, and each one has a different feel. My own favorites are the Golden, a contemporary deck that features medieval art; the Haindl, a very complex and nontraditional German deck; and the Minchiate, a Renaissance-era deck that has 96 cards instead of the more standard 78. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses. I find the Minchiate most helpful for creative issues, but I’ll almost always turn to the Golden if I have a problem with love. Feel free to experiment. There are online resources such as Facade (www.facade.com) that feature databases of images from a wide range of decks.
