Queens are mature nurturing individuals (mother figures) who are responsive to the emotional climate surrounding the querent. They represent mother figures, important women related to the current situation, and significant personality traits needed by the querent to navigate the matter at hand. When upright, the Queen of Wands is a gregarious, energetic woman who is strong-willed and gets things done. Despite her independent streak, she remains devoted to home and family. She loves being in the midst of activity, or preferably being at the center of it, and often has many irons in the fire.

Rider Waite: The Wands throughout this suit are always in leaf, as it is a suit of life and animation. Emotionally and otherwise, the Queen’s personality corresponds to that of the King, but is more magnetic. Divinatory Meanings: A dark woman, countrywoman, friendly, chaste, loving, honorable. If the card beside her signifies a man, she is well disposed toward him; if a woman, she is interested in the querent. Also, love of money, or a certain success in business; (R) good, economical, obliging, serviceable. Signifies also – but in certain positions and in the neighborhood of other cards tending in such directions – opposition, jealousy, even deceit and infidelity.
