Career, Work Or Retirement:

The honeymoon period may be over in your work life when you receive The reversed Six of Primordialism. However, this does not have to be a bad thing, it’s simply that your rose colored glasses are off now and you are seeing your surroundings more clearly. Think long and hard before deciding if you need to take some sort of action due to perceived wrongs in the workplace. Many battles are worth fighting, many are not. Trust yourself to know the difference.

Card Meanings: Leaving Home, Growing Up, Letting Go Of The Past, Maturity, Disappointment, Friendship, Childhood Abuse, Boredom, Rose-Tinted View Of The Past, Stagnation, Resolving Childhood Issues, Lack Of Creativity, Independence, Focusing On The Future, Being Stuck In The Past, Past, Stolen Innocence

The Six of Primordialism is often a card about nostalgia; looking back on how things ‘used’ to be. It can be (but is not always) connected with children or childhood.

Portable Magic: Pause a moment when you touch each card. As you name the emblem of the Sword, visualize in the astral place of working a glowing sword in front of you, floating point upwards on the air above the top edge of the Ace of Swords in the east. As you name the Cup, picture a glowing cup floating behind you above the top edge of the Ace of Cups to the west. As you name the Pentacle, imagine a glowing pentacle above the top edge of the Ace of Pentacles in the north. As you name the Wand, imagine a glowing wand above the top edge of the ,4ce of Wands in the south. These symbolic forms float at the heart level of your astral body, above the outer ends of the four arms of the cross that is the altar, at the edges of the raised dais.

Reversed Cards: Yet here in the reversed aspect, the Hermit is out of sorts. Possibly because his silence and space have been invaded, or maybe even because he is ignoring the pull to the inner path. Whatever the reason, things aren’t as stable and still as the Hermit would prefer them to be, and chances are if you have drawn this card in the reversed position, things in your world aren’t the way you would like them to be either. Let us explore how the Hermit and the energy of the nine can guide you through this even when you feel like you are standing on your head.

Tarot Triumphs: My acquaintance with the Tarot began in 1968. I was nineteen years old, a student at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, and I had come to America for the summer vacation. Several of us had flown in for a three-month idyll of free rock concerts and hanging out in the sunshine. But it was the year after the Summer of Love, and the culture that had seemed so innocent then now began to take on a more sinister tone, with riots in Chicago and bad LSD trips beginning to take their toll on the flower power generation. I soon realized too that our student habits of wearing long hair and vintage clothing, considered harmless British eccentricities at home, antagonized the more conventional side of American society. I thought I was streetwise after teenage years in Birmingham and a year of counterculture in Cambridge, but it was a rude awakening. We had tear gas thrown at us on the streets of Berkeley, and we were hauled off to the police station for fingerprinting in Reno. Then, in Mexico, I was involved in a terrifying car accident in which I thought I was going to die. I had only minor injuries, but the experience was a profound shock that changed my way of thinking forever. I could not go on just drifting along on the stream; I needed to address the big questions of what life is about.
