Romance, Love Or Relationships:

The reversed Six of Cups says that you are likely to begin dealing soon with some issues that you’ve been avoiding with regards to love. If you are in a committed relationship, things that you had ‘swept under the rug’ to keep harmony may resurface and need to be dealt with soon. If single and longing for love, the time has come to look at yourself and what you are doing (or not doing) to bring that love into your life. Love won’t just fall out of the sky; you do have to make an effort.

One of the truly wonderful things about being alive is that it allows us access to a wealth of different emotions – of course, we sometimes wish it didn’t, particularly when we are hurting – yet this hugely flexible resource of response is one of our most valuable treasures. The Lord of Pleasure is about learning how to enter into pleasure with an open heart which is ready to receive, and freely allow the passage of emotion through it. Too often, we fail to enter the moment, and instead, stand on the threshold of life. This card challenges us to cross that threshold, and flow with the river of love which is always available to us. So on a day ruled by the Lord of Pleasure, we have to consider what pleasures us (and don’t shy away from your own sexuality!!). Today, you need to make a point of taking the time to give yourself up to pleasure, however you define it. (In my mind’s eye, I see certain of our company reaching eagerly for the chocolate bar whilst repeating, like a mantra, the words “Oh thankyou …thankyou…” 😉

It is a truism that there is violence, anger and mean-spiritedness in the world. Certainly there is enough of this, but there is also much good will and caring. A mother hands a drink to her child. A friend lends his car for the weekend. A worker fills in for a sick colleague. Small gestures, barely noticed, but so important. The Six of Cups is a card of simple goodness. It encourages you to be kind, generous and forgiving. And there’s a little exercise I’d like you to take time out to do as well. Sit down comfortably, and relax. Pay special attention to opening out your chest area. Now concentrate on your breathing……feel it flowing in and out of your body……feel it cool, and refreshing. Now each time you draw in breath, draw in love as well…. Connect with the all-embracing, infinite, unconditional love that flows through life in each and every day…..and enjoy!!!!!

Psychic Abilities : Emotional: this particular kind of telepathy has been dangerous in the past. The transmitter often gives off this feeling without knowing it, and the receiver will have the full impact. With emotions such as happiness or love, it might not really matter. Those are good feelings. However, depression or grief can hit with extreme repercussions. Though we have discussed not allowing the feelings to impact our own moods, it can be difficult if you arenÂ’t prepared. There have been instances where someone was struck with the grief that another person felt and it caused them to go mad. Be careful with transmitting feelings, but even more comfortable with shutting down the connection if you feel like someone is negatively effecting your emotions.

Reversed Cards: Let’s face it. If you have gotten the Six of Cups in the retrograde aspect, you are allowing yourself to live in the emotional waters of the past. Scorpio loves to indulge in past pleasures, but it is not the best place to have your head, especially when you are trying to move forward. The good news is that if you have received this card in the retrograde aspect, you are meant to be looking for lessons. Not just any lessons, either—lessons on love, forgiveness, and fidelity, all lit by this card’s ruling planet, the sun. Relationships are complicated, and sometimes good ones get away. Seek what you need in the past, but only bring back what will assist you in the present.

Portable Magic: We are concerned here not with the Tarot painted by Moina Mathers, but with the esoteric correspondences assigned to the cards by MacGregor Mathers, based on the psychic communications he and his wife received from the Secret Chiefs. These correspondences form the basis for the standard interpretation of the cards of the modern Tarot. Other systems of correspondences exist, but none is so widely accepted or so rational as that of the Golden Dawn.

Portable Magic: with a specific occult potential, in much the same way a battery is charged with electrical potential, so that if and when the charm is needed, its accumulated power will flow forth to accomplish its function. The procedure is the same; only the intention is different. The cards of the charm, placed as realizers on the triangle, embody the purpose, which is the creation of a particular kind of charm. They are held in the mind during the final phase of the ritual when energy is sent lancing into the triangle to open the gateway of the Fool. The reflux of occult energy from the level of universal spirit expresses itself by energizing the cards of the charm, rather than by accomplishing some other specific task.
