Career, Work Or Retirement:

Before you can expect the people you work with to be crystal clear on what your talents and skills are, its obvious that YOU must be clear first. What are you best at? What gets you moving? These should give you some insights into where your Lust or Strengths lie. Once you are clear, this is a good time to make sure that those in a position to hire you (or to keep you employed, or to give you a raise) are aware of them as well. Take things one step at a time, you are already doing well when this card appears, there is no need to push too far too fast.

Card Meanings: Unfaithfulness, Corruption, Karmic Retribution, Sickness, Dishonesty, Unfairness, Weakness, Injustice, Lack Of Accountability, Pettiness

Lust or Strength indicates the importance of mind over matter, and reminds you to focus on what you do want rather than what you don’t want in your life. Its main point is that you have the ability to harness your thoughts and to use them for your – and everyone else’s – highest good. Not only do you have the ability; you have the responsibility. So conquer your fears, control your impulses, and never lose patience with yourself or what you are doing.

Portable Magic
Book Details
Portable Magic: All magic is worked on the astral plane, but the physical plane is needed to give solidity and persistence to astral forms. A magician who tries to work strictly in the astral environment is likely to have poorer results than one who bases his astral tools upon material tools that he can pick up and handle. That is the purpose of the cards in Tarot magic. They anchor the astral forms that are associated with them, giving the astral forms a power that only comes from matter. The physical world has many limitations, but it has one great virtue its inertia. Physical matter persists on its own without effort. It does not need to be sustained or constantly reinforced. The physical Tarot cards act as a supporting foundation of matter for the astral forces and shapes that are manipulated on the astral level cluring ritual.

Elements of the Psychic World: Another respected cardiologist who was initially sceptical was Maurice Rawlings, who states in his book Beyond Death’s Door (1978) that he had always believed in death as extinction until one day a 48-year-old postman died in his surgery. As he began to resuscitate him the patient began

Portable Magic: Your own intuitive perception of this spirit is that she is female, so you modify her title, calling her the Lady of Peace Restored. You conceive her initially much as she is depicted on this card in the RiderWaite Tarot, as a slender woman with short dark hair who wears a long white robe that hangs down to her feet. She is not blindfolded, as she appears on the Waite card, nor does she carry swords. These symbolic details on Waite’s version of the card are only intended to indicate A. E. Waite’s concept of the card, and are not inevitable features of the elemental spirit of the card. This description is intended only as an exampleanother magician might well see the spirit differently.

Tarot Triumphs: 1 When I was studying traditional Russian arts and crafts, I visited one of the longest-running matryoshka, or Russian nesting doll, workshops at Semyonov. The dolls were painted with very simple designs without a great deal of variation, but the women artists were at pains to explain that every face on the dolls was important to them. They wanted each face to look kind. They were also proud to explain the simple symbols on the dolls—birds for happiness, flowers for beauty, and so on. Their artistic role in the creation of the dolls was not highly skilled or imaginative, but they entered into it with good intent, to make something that had a presence and was not just a slavish reproduction. Something similar may have happened in the Tarot ateliers, and many of the colorists could have taken just the same kind of approach.
