Career, Work Or Retirement:

If you hate your job, or are underemployed, but you’ve not wanted to leave because of the steady income, you could end up being forced out either through redundancy or being fired. It’s not set in stone but losing your job is a very real possibility. Ultimately, this would lead to your greater good, but do you really want to be fired or made redundant? Wouldn’t you rather leave of your own free will and on your own terms? Now would be a very good time to start working on ‘plan B.’ Those of you who don’t necessarily hate your job and are fully occupied may still end up losing your job anyway. Death is a card of change and that change is coming one way or another. ‘Plan B’ should be on your to-do list too. You may even want to consider making a complete change. Perhaps even a complete change of field.

Death can sometimes, but not often, indicate physical death, referring to a passing already happened. This card more often indicates transformation and change. This is definitely a time of deep transformation, likely to be both internally and externally in your life. Situations, things, and people that you have counted on or gotten used to may no longer be available to you in quite the same way as they once were. This transition can be very difficult for some people. The change though, is nearly always needed.

Development for Beginners: Furthermore, Bessent’s dream had additional precognitive qualities in that when he was lead out of the sleep room, he was greeted by a man in a white doctor’s coat and then led to a room, down a corridor, that was filled with artwork completed by mentally ill patients.

Complete Book of Tarot: When upright, the Death trump signals a period of significant change and transformation. A new seed is sprouting in your life. One chapter is ending and another beginning. This necessary process should not be denied or avoided. The major theme of this card is ‘out with the old to make way for the new.’ Have courage to face the unknown because new life awaits you. Keep in mind the biblical admonition: ‘Except a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit’ (John 12:24, KJV).

Tarot Triumphs: As we reach the end of this book, I would like to wish you all the best with your Tarot practice. Whether you use Tarot for divination, personal illumination, or creative inspiration, it is an interest that can last a lifetime. We learn, develop, and pass on our knowledge, as it is my intention to do here. My own curiosity drew me to the Tarot, and I discovered an innate affinity with it, but I owe much to the Tarot masters who have helped me along the way. I hope that some of the concepts expressed here will do justice to what I have learned from others and that this exposition of the Fool’s Mirror method will help in some way to further the life of the Tarot, a remarkable set of symbols and way of knowledge that we have been fortunate enough to inherit.

Development for Beginners: Yb or Ab: This was a person’s heart, or their moral compass, telling them right from wrong. After death, the Yb could either leave the body and reside with the gods, or if the deceased did not pass judgment, then the Yb would be eaten by Ammut, the Egyptian goddess of divine retribution.
