Career, Work Or Retirement:

When you draw the Star reversed, it indicated that you may have a lot of powerfully positive opportunities in front of you which you are not seeing. Think about not only how to make the best of the situation you are in now, but also about your ideal situation, e.g. where you want to be work-wise five years from now. Picture your perfect scenario, then take steps to make it happen.

Card Meanings: Lack Of Faith, Broken Dreams, Focusing On The Negative, Disappointment, Boredom, Bad Luck, Hopelessness, Imbalance, Lack Of Creativity, Despair, Lack Of Inspiration

When the Star appears, you are likely to find yourself feeling rather inspired and you will be feeling rather more hopeful about the future than you have in a while. You will also feel more confident that your needs – whether these are emotional or financial needs or both – will be met. Nothing can be taken for granted of course, but it is unlikely that your confidence is misplaced. This is also a very spiritual card and you may find yourself, at least for a time, feeling at one with all of creation. It’s not a common feeling so make sure you savor it.

Portable Magic
Book Details
Portable Magic: Another departure from the Golden Dawn correspondences that I have used with success for many years involves the location of the four suits on the four directions of the compass. I made this change earlier than my modifications to the trumps, not long after I began the practice of ritual magic. It is described and justified in my first book, The New Magus, and in the expanded edition of that work, Nau Millennium Magic. The change is simple enough to describe. In the Golden Dawn correspondences for the Tarot, the suit of Swords and its element Air are linked to the east, and the suit of Pentacles and its element Earth are linked to the north. In my personal system of magic, I invert these locations for the suits. Wands and Fire I leave in the south, and Cups and Water I leave in the west, as they are in the Golden Dawn system.

Development for Beginners: After outlining the objects, graduate to creating full blown wireframes of them. Start by doing one object at a time. Then, when you feel comfortable, you can advance to creating wireframes that are increasingly complex and detailed.

Tarot Beginners Guide: There is a wide variety of cards now available. Many of them have similarities in design, many are based on designs reflecting the general name given to the cards, such as Celtic tarot, Egyptian tarot etc. The commonest packs are the Marseilles cards, the Etteilla cards, the Rider-Waite cards, the Aleister Crowley cards, Tarot Classic cards and III cards (which are used in this book). These are but a few of the sets of cards available, and choosing what cards you want to use is a personal decision. There are scores of cards around for the newcomer to look at, but my advice would be to choose a pack with clear, standard definitions, and move on to the other types of cards at a later stage when you have mastered the subject.
