Portable Magic: Similarly, whether the elemental answers your instructions in words that you are able to hear on the astral level depends on your own psychic development. Many magicians never hear the words of elemental spirits, or see their forms clearly, even after working with elementals for years. It is not necessary to see and hear an elemental before you can give the spirit instructions. The evoked spirit will have no trouble at all seeing you and hearing every word you utter, either aloud or in your thoughts. Do not assume that your evocation has failed merely because the triangle seems empty. Often the spirit is present and waiting for you to tell it what to do, although it may remain invisible to your sight.

Reversed Cards: In Rider-Waite-Smith-themed decks, Justice sits right in the middle of the major arcana. She has ten cards on either side of her as she maintains the balance of the higher concepts of the major cards. This role in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck design plays hand in hand with the elements of this card. Justice is a card of finding balance through the pursuit of personal truth. This is echoed in the card’s number vibration as well, eleven/two. (In numerology all numbers are reduced to their single digit. Here 11 becomes 1 + 1 = 2. To show this master number in its true form, it is written 11/2.) In numerology this number is a master number, one that is seeking a higher truth, a deeper spiritual meaning to life on the physical plane. In its upright form, the Justice card asks us to look at how we seek truth in our own personal experience. She asks us to be balanced and fair in our dealings with others and to seek a higher spiritual knowing. Here in the reversed aspect these elements still carry weight; it is just that coming to terms with them and allowing them to play key roles in your daily life causes some challenges.

Tarot Triumphs: In terms of a personal meeting, I suggest that it is appropriate to be grateful for such a contact, though it might not always be an entirely comfortable interaction. A Tarot reading, for instance, can shake up our preconceptions and reveal truths we have previously been unwilling to accept. But it can nevertheless open a doorway and be the start of inner growth. I acknowledge this kind of contact with gratitude and hope that I in turn can help to open up a path for someone else.
