Family, Friends & Relationships:

When the Four of Pattern is reversed, it can mean that the querent will move quickly through the fear-based clinging they have been exhibiting and suddenly learn to be more open, more generous, and more aware that fear solves nothing. Making a point to think positively will help.

Card Meanings: Shedding The Old, Financial Insecurity/ Instability, Obstacles, Spendthrift, Letting Go Of People, Financial Loss, Generosity, Generous To A Fault, Losing Something Valuable, Sharing, Reckless Behaviour, Openness, Making Large Purchases, Possessions Or Issues, Gambling, Earthy Possessions, Lack Of Control, Giving To Others

The Four of Pattern can be a card about holding on to things, people, money, or situations longer than is healthy or realistic. When this card appears in a reading, it’s a sure sign that you must look carefully at what you are clinging to, and whether others are clinging to you in an unhealthy way. Relax.

Book Details
Elements of the Psychic World: The drum eventually ended up in the house of John Mompesson who lived in the neighbouring village of Tedworth and was responsible for the arrest of the drummer. During Mompesson’s absence on a business trip in London violent poltergeist activity erupted in his house terrifying his family and servants. For days on end drumming was heard both inside and outside the house, objects were moved about, voices spoke and the younger children were levitated in their bed.

Reversed Cards: Putting on a show’ is a traditional interpretation of this card, and I am guessing that if you have this card in the shadow aspect, you, my friend, love to be the center of attention, just like our juggler. You know who you are. You’re the one who is always busy, even though you really are not. You look busy. You always have plans. Your workload is always something to groan about, and you can’t possibly help Cathy move this weekend. Yep, I have your number, baby, and so too does the Two of Pentacles in the shadow aspect. Now, let’s get something straight. I am not judging you. If anything, I am actually a little jealous of how you pull it all off. But let’s face it—you love to put on a show, and the more people who see the show the happier and more elaborate you become with your act.

Tarot Triumphs: Tarot, after all, has evolved to become a sequence of twenty-two images that hold together well as a set; they seem to be deliberately chosen, drawn for the most part from classical allusions and medieval imagery, but presented in an original way, and as an apparently meaningful set, not as a random mix of allusions. And they evade attempts to tie them into one specific source.12 They contain elements of known images, as we’ll explore in chapter five, but they have an identity of their own as a set and sequence of symbols. This has led to frequent conjecture that a form of spiritual teaching may well have been embedded in the early forms of Tarot, perhaps a version of Sufism, Kabbalah, or alchemy. This is speculation, but not outlandish conjecture. Or perhaps it emerged from a school of wisdom that has not survived in any other recognizable form.

Creative Tarot: The history of the deck we recognize as the tarot—the deck that includes both the Minor Arcana and the twenty-two characters and archetypes of the Major Arcana—begins in fifteenth-century Italy. But the tarot came in many different varieties, even from the very beginning. There was a Florentine deck called the Minchiate, with its forty-card Major Arcana set; and a deck from Milan called the Trionfi that used four types of birds rather than the four elements of the standard deck.
